I had only 2 mildly negative thoughts on Zojirushi NS-TGC10 wonderful machine - it takes a pretty long time to make rice compared to stove-top, and the results can be dry if you follow the manual instructions - you will need to experiment a few batches. The solutions are: to start the rice earlier in the day - it stays perfect on hold for many hours - and in my case (Carolina Rice) I up the water. For 1.5 "cups" I fill the water to the 2 line in the bowl. I say "cups" because the scoop is not a standard cup measurement, and the results are also not a standard cup. Not a big issue at all.

The timer function is great if you know what time you want to eat, fill, set and come back later.

Everyone who has seen Zojirushi NS-TGC10 in action wants their own. The price is higher, but if you go for quality and results without wasting time and money on lesser machines first, this is a great choice...

Weber Genesis E-320 Test

I have previously owned several charbroil grills that only lasted a few seasons (even with proper maintenance and covering). I finally decided to go for a Weber Genesis E-320 and will never look back! I have been cooking with this grill for approximately 3 weeks now, and after each experience, I cannot wait to cook with it again. The high quality materials that make up the grill set the stage for an amazing meal. From grilling steaks, fish, veggies, to warming up foods, everything is cooked to perfection. This grill was worth the few dollars more for the quality and longevity that I am sure it will provide for many years and meals to come.

The Weber Genesis E-320 grill did require assembly. Give yourself a few hours to do so with the very clear and easily followed directions that are provided.
I highly recommend this grill to anyone in the market...

Juiceman JM1000M Test

It's hard to complain about the Juiceman JM1000M juice extractor and food processor. The price is low, it works as both a food processor and a juicer, and it looks nice on your kitchen counter.

Overall, the JM1000M looks like a great addtion to my kitchen ... but it doesn't "feel" as great as it looks. Build quality is a little questionable with thin plastics in a few spots and a motor that you can hear straining when you put anything tough inside the food processor.

Neither of these issues have prevented the Juiceman JM1000M from working as advertised, but I suspect food processor won't hold up as well as my parents' old food processor which lasted for almost 30 years before the motor died. If you accidentally drop the top plastic portion of the machine while you're putting it away in your cabinet or you regularly stress the motor with tough, raw fruits or nuts then this food processor might not survive.

Nevertheless, despite the weak "feeling" of this machine, the Juiceman JM1000M works like it should and gets the job done at a low price..

Hoover F8100900 Review

I previously had a Bissel ProHeat, and was not pleased with its cleaning power. Although Hoover F8100900 machine is pretty pricey, I thought I would get better results with this. I have white couches and off-white carpet, three cats, and one 4-year old. I used the hand tools to clean the couches, and it did a FANTASTIC job!! However, when I moved the unit to the laundry room to clean it, the brushes fell off and can not be reattached.

I have only had Hoover F8100900 for about three weeks, and already have to take it in for service. I read a lot of reviews that said pretty much the same thing, but I bought it anyway. I would still recommend this to a friend (as long as they have the time to take it in for repairs!!). When this machine is working properly, it is great and well worth the money..

LG LuV200R Review

Pros: Great suction (from front and sides) for picking up hair and dirt. Automatic cord rewind. Features different height levels for various carpets, on/off button for roller brush to go from carpet to hard floor. Extending hose for easy reach. Looks nice on LG LuV200R

Cons: My only complaints on this vacuum is that is its very heavy, and it is a bit more noisy than previous vacuums I have owned.

Summary: I like LG LuV200R vacuum because it is perfect for removing pet hair from carpets. The dual suction feature (suctions from the front and from the sides) sucks up dirt deep down, picking up dirt that my old vacuum left behind. The automatic cord rewind is very convenient. With only two cons for this vacuum, I would still recommend this to anyone who has pets or who has heavy traffic on their floors..

Test Breville Tea Maker

I had the IQ Innovations Fine-T and hated how much it leaked water and that it didn't have common-sense features like customizable programming, audible notification when the tea was finished, and the ability to keep it warm for a decent amount of time.

The Breville Tea Maker is like an answered-prayer in many ways but there are a few things that are surprisingly missing (and I realize that I'm being very picky here)... I would liked for there to be fill-lines on the OPPOSITE side of the glass jug (think about filling up the jug... it's below you in the SINK and you're gripping the handle... so how do you suppose you are going to see fill-lines if they are on the same side as the handle?!). I would also have liked to see an "off" button that simply returned the Tea Maker off (and showed the clock).

But please do not misinterpret my constructive criticism as anything more than a wish list for Version 2 of this absolutely amazing product that BY FAR buries all other competition on the market! When given the choice (which I was, because I was allowed to trade my Fine-T for the Breville model), I chose the Breville Tea Maker and I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

This year for my 17th anniversary, he bought me my professional size 6 quart mixer as I have established strong baking skills and this skill has begun earning me some extra money. I love this mixer! It is powerful, it is an awesome size, and has allowed me to work less as far as how any batches I make of anything. The ability to adjust the speed is so beneficial that it has opened up the possibilities to make things I couldn't before. I would urge everyone who cooks, to get a kitchenaide mixer regardless of size. It will make your life so much easier in the kitchen! This is an all in one machine that will last a lifetime! I kept my first one, the motor has never broke down, and with my baking, I am sure that I will need to use a second mixer the next time I make a wedding cake! Krups KM7000

I really liked Krups KM7000 coffee maker, with a few gripes, until it broke. I had read other reviews warning of early failure, but decided to take a chance because I really liked the concept of just pouring in beans and water and getting fresh coffee. It also is a nice looking design, and the timer feature is great. Not so great is the fact that you have little control over the strength of the coffee. Sure, it has strength settings, but they are too weak. It is as if someone at Krups decided they know what's best for you. Despite using the strongest setting, it just doesn't grind enough beans, so the coffee ends up too weak for my tastes. If you are the type that likes medium-weak coffee, then you could be happy with this machine. Next gripe: the chute for the ground coffee doesn't flow well. The grounds are supposed to flow out of the grinder into the basket, but they put the chute parallel to the ground, so the grounds get bunched up in there. It causes problems if you have dark roasts, which can be oily and sticky, causing jams. Medium roasts work OK, but I prefer dark, which is a shame.
Given all this, I would have rated it 4 stars, but now it is broken with an apparent bad heating element, and destined for the trash. For just one year of service, and just after the warranty expired, it was a terrible investment. Since others have also reported bad reliability, I can't recommend this machine.

When I ordered Zojirushi CV-DSC40 I wondered if I was doing the right thing. I am a tea drinker, and have had electric kettles for years, but needed to replace my last one. While kettles are great, I was always having to refill and reheat. I love the Zojirushi. It keeps water at the exactly right temperature (208 degrees), the water is ready in the morning because I can set it to heat up before I get up. It does take about 20 minutes to boil if you are just starting (will be longer in the winter when the water is colder), but with planning that is not an issue. Some others have commented on having to be careful to not place it under cupboards because it is tall and when it boils the steam will hit the cupboard. I find it less of an issue than with my kettle, especially since I had to bring the kettle to a boil every time I needed hot water. I love having hot water throughout the day and evening. The stainless steel finish fits right in with my stainless appliances. The only thing I might do differently is get the 3 liter instead--but the price was better on the 4 liter when I bought it, and I find I go through a lot more water than I thought I would, so I'm happy.

about Breville BJE510XL ; One month using the product twice a day, so below are my inferences so far:
- Love the 5 different speed setting, specially for soft fruits such as strawberries which require slower rpm. Small observation: soft and small fruits will be triturated before you are able to properly cover the feed tube, so there is (usually) some splattering of fruit particles.
- Not as bulky as other juicers out in the market, and personally due to its attractive polished design I don't mind it at all sitting on the counter. Plus, for me it's not pragmatic to put away the 14-16 lbs machine after every use.
- Pulp waste is considerably dry (for a household juicer) - Softer fruits might not get completely ground, but instead spat to the waste bin in big pieces.
- It is not quiet - but in comparison with other juicer brands - it is tolerable. Watch out for a little trembling of your counter top and neighbors wondering why do you vacuum so often in your kitchen...
- As long as you clean the removable parts immediately after juicing stainer-prone fruits/vegetables such as beets or carrots, your machine will not be stained.
- The filter mesh is somewhat tedious to clean. The brush included with the juicer seems to be the most efficient tool to clean it. Be gentle when cleaning the mesh, I did bend mine a bit while cleaning it.

I am truly satisfied with my purchase and do recommend the product to anyone considering buying a juicer in this price range.

about NN-SD377S ; Well, what can I say? Replaced an older Sharp with this one and it works great. Great styling on the 'chassis' it's small, but fits all regular plates. Is it 'better' than another 800W Microwave? No. It looks better, works well. And is a bit more expense. I can take that.
However, one flaw impossible to overlook is the IMPOSSIBLE-to-read display. Possibly the worst design ever; it's green, and can only be seen direct on (as it illumanted the 2nd reflective layer). Go 10 degrees either side, you might as well look at a green blob (or, if you move further, nothing). I assume Panasonic will fix this is later revisions, but this is unexcusable for something this standard. Mind you, head on (and I mean, HEAD on) it's fine.....
If you don't care what the display shows, a great unit. If you are buyign this for someone with less than 39/39 eyesight.....

Bought this as a replacement for our old Sharp Carousel. It's much like the old one with a few more features. I gave it only 4 stars for a couple of reasons, it wants to slide on the counter top when you open and close it (I put a piece of wood between it and the wall to fix) and, I think the control panel could be laid out better (why aren't the "Start" and "Stop" pads highlighted and seperated out from the others). Over all, this is a very nice microwave and I would make the same choice again.
P.S. My wife has no trouble with the control panel, so maybe it's me.

Good size, awesome power

My 15+ year old Samsung microwave finally died (to my wife's rejoicing...) and I had to find a new microwave to fit on the built-in microwave shelf of our kitchen. The R-420LK won the battle based on the dimensions available and the features (I wanted sensor cook and lots of power).

The first unit that I received from Amazon had some sort of super-adhesive on the ad glued to the front of the door. When I went to remove it, the glue smeared all of the shiny black door. Nooooooo! My wife was not happy, so I contacted Amazon and they agreed to replace the cosmetically blemished unit. I received the replacement (which had normal adhesive on the front ad) and configured the unit. (Great job by Amazon!)

Wow, does this thing cook! It has to be twice as fast as the older microwave that it replaced. I have to use about 2/3's the time listed on the packages for frozen food, or it will burn things. I'm still getting used to the cooking times, but am quite impressed with the performance.

We like that we can fit the 8x11 baking dish inside, and the fact that it makes perfect popcorn automagically. :)

All in all, I'm happy and hope that we get several years of life out of this thing, as that would be the only downfall that I could see.

A good alternative to having multiple machines

I bought this product because we did not have the space for both a microwave and a toaster oven/convection oven. We have two young kids and making things quick is what we needed. While the grill feature does not do the best job of really "grilling" like a grill would, it does heat up hot dogs better than the microwave feature does AND I can "grill" bread and get it toasted. The convection part has worked out fine, though probably not as good as a full sized oven. BUT, it is perfect for small items.

The controls are different because it uses a dial to control some features like time and such. I will not say that is better or worse than button controls, just different.

I am glad we purchased this product because it has made making meals easier especially defrosting meats, bagels, etc.

Excellent product

I bought one of these from Amazon over a month ago and I love it and can find no faults with it all.
Every feature that I have used works well, the directions that came with it were ALL in English and easy to understand. From the first day I got it I have enjoyed using it and I use it several times a day.
This is a very powerful microwave and has the sensor cooking function on it and like that too but may be a little too much power for leftovers and a few other things but that is not an issue with this microwave. Simply set the amount of time to reheat leftovers or frozen dinners and reduce the power level and start.
I haven't bought a product in many years that I was 100% satisfied with but this one I am and I got one heck of a bargain on it to boot from Amazon.
This microwave wasn't available in any of the stores in my area and could only be bought online and you pay shipping charges, taxes and wait a week or two for it to come in and the prices were about $170.00 all total.
I paid Amazon $109.00, got free shipping and had it the day after I placed the order. They must have a warehouse in the St. Louis area.
If you are looking for a midsized microwave this is it.

Great Microwave...a little loud, though

This microwave is awesome! I love how easy it was to install and how easy it is to use! The only problem with this (and it really isn't a problem, just something to get used to) is that it runs louder than most microwaves I've every heard. That being said, my kids both sleep fairly close to the kitchen and it hasn't woken them up yet (and they can be pretty light sleepers). I would definitely recommend this microwave to anyone, but if a loud microwave would just annoy you, don't get this one..

Just What I Needed!

I'm very pleased with this product. It's just big enough for everything I need (fits a full sized dinner plate), and yet has a very small "footprint". The turntable works well, and is hard to find on such a small microwave. 800 Watts rather than the typical 700 Watts is nice for such a small unit - plenty of power. I also like that it does not have a push-button door opener - I've never found those to be easy to use. This unit does an excellent job, in a small space, and at a good price.

Just a Couple Flaws

Four pluses, two minuses.

First, this is a seriously powerful oven. Second, it looks almost elegant--especially for a microwave. Third, the Panasonic inverter technology definitely helps in thawing evenly. For me, this practically eliminates all microwaves but Panasonics from consideration. Fourth, I like the dial.

Okay, now for the troublesome issues. First, as others have remarked for this and similar Panasonics: what on earth were the designers thinking with the awful display? Standing at normal height, you cannot read the display when you are close to the oven. Like, oh, say, when you are trying to USE it. I say I love the dial, but to use the dial to set a time, I need to bend over to counter height. That is simply astoundingly bad design. My five foot two wife has the same problem. Looks great from across the room, though. Second, so far when I've used the reheat sensor it has heated up my soup and tea until it is boiling. Perhaps this is operator error, but I'm not *that* dim a bulb. If I find the error of my ways I'll revise this review.

I had to replace a GE microwave that was smaller in size and wattage because it stopped working. I liked that my older one took up less counter space, but occasionally was frustrated by not being able to put casserole dishes in to heat because they wouldn't fit. So I looked around a bit and found this one. This microwave definitely takes up more space, and heats quicker with the higher wattage. I do miss the counter space it now takes up. Still worth the trade-off though. If I have any problems, I'll post an update. Got mine today at my military PX for less than Amazon's price.

I had this model-an earlier version same look and basic design-for 7 years. I think that's a pretty good track record so I ordered the new version and really like it. I do miss the old buttons that cooked various sizes of popcorn from regular to snack size to perfection and baked potatoes to perfection, but I am getting used to the sensor heating idea and at least it errs on the side of undercooking rather than overcooking.

Pretty good

I got a Sharp microwave to replace a 15 or 20 yr old one that pooped out. So far, so good. It has been used primarily for heating leftovers and steaming vegetables so I haven't given it a good workout in the month I've had it.

Amazon shipped it in a couple days even with the supersaver shipping (supposed to take 7-10 days).

If things go south, I'll be back with more comments.

My only concern was that I researched this quite a bit, using Consumer Reports and several other customer comment sites (including Amazon) but the reviews were so all over the place, I was frustrated in trying to find the PERFECT microwave, so I took a chance. Like I said, so far so good.

Excellent addition to kitchen

I have enjoyed using this in my kitchen. It is very convenient for the most part. I just wish there were more Instant keys like on other microwaves that would do "One Minute", "Two Minutes" etc. for the microwave so I wouldn't have to go through the menu and press Enter a few times and then press Start. Makes it where I have to do it instead of a guest in my house since they don't trust themselves to do it right. It is very easy to clean up and wipe down after using it. I haven't had to do the steam setting to clean it yet. It steamed the broccoli perfect where it is still little firm but cooked. That is always a challenge to steam on the stove where it doesn't do too much. The convection made perfectly cooked chicken tenders that were little crisp on outside and not dry at all (no steam cooking them either). I really enjoy the settings that does Sensor Cooking so you don't have to pick a time but I have noticed a few times when doing that, that I have to put in for a little longer as I like some things like Chilie more hot. I agree with a previous post that the cooling time could be shorter. I have never had it make my kitchen warm at all like my regular oven does. That is a big thing living in Texas where we have to use an A/C lots. Overall, very nice product. I've had several compliments on it and my brother is asking where I got it cuz he wants one....more on Sharp AX-1200S

so I am very happy that it really works well.. has
lots of bells and whistles but is still easy to run.

I bought a second one!!!

I had this microwave for about a year when my home burned down. I didn't hesitate to purchase another one. It works great and it's not one of those huge ones. It can be on the counter or you can purchase the kit if you want it off the counter. I never had a problem with it and it does everything I need it to do and it was shipped fast.. Sharp R-402JW

It works well

Replaced another large microwave I had. Size is good and heats well.
A little different than my Panosonic but learning!Husband loves the pop corn setting!
Price was right as well as the size!
Would only consider one with a caurosel as it heats more evenly. Can slow down the power so things do not bubble over.

Have had this microwave for about 3 weeks now and it hasn't missed a beat. Easy to use and a large numer of preset functions, (which I probably won't use). It is also quite a large microwave making it great for families. Would recommend for everyone...more on Sharp R-402JK

good basic microwave

I bought this microwave to replace my previous Sharp R-1449. This one is deeper, more plastic, and slightly more powerful. It seems reliable (only have had it 6 weeks), has a good vent and good stove lights. I wish it had a night light and a switch to stop turntable rotation though one can get around it by removing the turntable. My biggest disappointment was that it utilizes a different mounting plate than my previous Sharp microwave.

I gave it four stars b/c it does the job and it was inexpensive compared to other manufacturers. Incidentally, mounting instructions were very good...more on Sharp-R-1406
